Women today can live up to half of their lives postmenopausal. That is why the treatment of climacteric symptoms has become increasingly important. Estrogen effectively alleviates climacteric symptoms and thus improves the quality of life. Until the beginning of 2000, the use of HT was rather common. International studies from the USA and England showed that HT increased the risk of breast cancer and cardiovascular diseases. These studies attracted considerable publicity and the use of HT decreased all over the world.
