Titanium surface characteristics, including microtopography, chemical composition, and wettability, are essential features to achieve osseointegration of dental implants, but the choice of a particular surface topography is still a debated topic among clinicians. An increased level of implant surface hydrophilicity has been demonstrated to ameliorate osseo-integration and shorten healing times.
