Janjaweed militia attacking a village in Darfur

This picture was drawn by an 8 year old Darfuri girl living in a refugee camp in Chad. She depicts how her village was attacked both by the military of Sudan and by the Janajaweed militia group. The militia group came riding camels and used machine guns to shoot people in the village while the government used helicopter gunships to bomb the villagers. In order to destroy their livelihood, the military and the Janjaweed burnt all the houses in the village that they attacked.https://digitalcommons.usf.edu/darfuri_drawings/1262/thumbnail.jp
