Monroe Isadore Nachman oral history interview

This is an oral history interview with Holocaust concentration camp liberator Monroe Monty Nachman. Nachman was a member of the 103rd Infantry Division, which liberated Landsberg on April 27, 1945. The camp consisted of several huts inside a wire fence, with bodies all over the place; they could smell the camp long before they saw it. Nachman spoke with a few of the prisoners while they were there, which was about an hour. About forty-five minutes after they left, they found a death march on its way to Dachau and killed the SS guards. After the war, Nachman was assigned to the Counter Intelligence Corps, serving as an interpreter.
