The transformation from natural to human-dominated landscapes is occurring rapidly throughout much of the world. In San Luis, Costa Rica, undisturbed forest land has been converted into farmland, introducing crops for agriculture and free-ranging domestic animals. The aim of this study was to observe how relative local mammal abundance has been impacted by these anthropological factors. I sampled three locations in San Luis: a coffee plantation (Café Bella Tica), a farm containing domestic animals (Marco Marín’s farm), and a forest microhabitat.
