Epiphylls are very vulnerable to forest disturbance and climate change, making them good indicators of forest health. It is therefore important to better understand their distribution pattern, richness and abundance. In this study, I surveyed the understory plants of the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve in Costa Rica and investigated whether some plant families hosted more epiphylls than others, as well as described the most abundant epiphyll morphospecies observed.
