A leitura dialógica em contexto penitenciário: vozes femininas que ecoam responsivamente na construção de sentidos

This dissertation aims to investigate the practice of dialogic reading (Cf. BATISTA- SANTOS, 2018) within a women's penitentiary in Palmas - Tocantins, as a way of producing critical knowledge, reflection and identity formation, since it seeks to to create a learning space where incarcerated women can envision their voice being heard and legitimized, beyond the 'world of crime'. Its specific objective is: a) to investigate the construction of meanings through the practice of dialogic reading in the context of incarceration; b) analyze how the constitution of the reading identity of inmates (responsive reading women) took place. Linked to these objectives, the questions that are sought to be answered are the following: 1. Is it possible to find literacy within a prison? 2. Do women in prison who have dropped out of school present gaps (or 'fail') in terms of literacy? 3. Does the prison provide the necessary support, unlike the outside world, for literacy development? 4. Did these women discover their voice through reading, even though they were in prison? 5. Can reading in prison or is it emancipatory? The theoretical basis is related to studies on literacy (STREET, 2014) and reading from a dialogical perspective and the epistemology of emancipatory education (FREIRE, 2019; 2020). The methodological nature is part of a qualitative-interpretative perspective, in the field of Applied Linguistics. The methodological instruments used were an adaptation of the Thinking High in Group (ZANOTTO, 2014) from an interview and two reading experiences. The research subjects were five women who were inmates in a female penitentiary in the capital of Tocantins. The analyzes were elucidated, based on the theoretical framework, to answer the questions that guided the research. As a result, it was found that: a) it is not only possible to find literacy within the prison, but it was also found that the participants discovered their subjective and dialogic voices through reading, confirming that the act of reading in prison is a way of emancipation and liberation; b) the inmates emancipate themselves when they become aware of their state and from there they seek to transform it in a critical and reflexive way.RESUMO Esta dissertação tem o objetivo de investigar a prática de leitura dialógica (Cf. BATISTA- SANTOS, 2018) dentro de uma penitenciária feminina de Palmas - Tocantins, como uma forma de produção de conhecimento crítico, reflexão e formação identitária, posto que busca-se criar um espaço de aprendizagem onde as mulheres encarceradas possam vislumbrar sua voz sendo ouvida e legitimada, para além do ‘mundo do crime’. Tem como objetivo específico: a) investigar a construção de sentidos por meio da prática de leitura dialógica em contexto de encarceramento; b) analisar como se deu a constituição da identidade leitora de reeducandas (mulheres-leitoras responsivas). Atrelados a esses objetivos, as perguntas que se buscam responder são as seguintes: 1. É possível encontrar letramentos dentro de um presídio? 2. Mulheres presas que abandonaram a escola, apresentam lacunas (ou ‘fracassaram’) em termos de letramento? 3. O presídio dá o suporte necessário, diferente do mundo fora das grades, para o desenvolvimento de letramentos? 4. Essas mulheres descobriram sua voz, por meio da leitura, mesmo estando presas? 5. A leitura no presídio pode ou é emancipadora? A base teórica relaciona-se a estudos sobre o letramento (STREET, 2014) e a leitura em uma perspectiva dialógica e à epistemologia da educação emancipadora (FREIRE, 2019;2020). A natureza metodológica se insere numa perspectiva qualitativo-interpretativista, na área da Linguística Aplicada. Os instrumentos metodológicos utilizados foram uma inspriração no Pensar Alto em Grupo (ZANOTTO, 2014) a partir de uma entrevista e duas vivências de leitura. Os sujeitos da pesquisa foram cinco mulheres que se encontravam reclusas em uma penitenciária feminina da capital tocantinense. As análises foram elucidadas, a partir do quadro teórico, para responder as perguntas que nortearam a pesquisa. Como resultados constatou-se que: a) não só é possível encontrar letramentos dentro do presídio, como também se constatou que as participantes descobriram suas vozes, subjetivas e dialógicas, por meio da leitura, confirmando que o ato de ler no presídio é uma forma de emancipação e libertação; b) as reeducandas se emancipam quando tomam consciência do seu estado e a partir daí buscam transformá-lo de maneira crítica e reflexiva
