Straipsnyje apžvelgiamas iš Sovietų Sąjungos į Izraelį imigravusių žydų adaptacijos ir integracijos visuomenėje procesas. Jame siekiama atskleisti įtampas tarp iš skirtingų kultūrinių kontekstų atvykusių žydų bendruomenių Izraelyje, atsispiriant nuo aškenazių ir sefardų konflikto Izraelio valstybės kūrimosi pradžioje ir didžiausią dėmesį skiriant XX a. 7–9 dešimtmečiuose atvykusiesiems iš SSRS.
