The article analyzes the problem of musical identity of a music teacher. Alongside with the presentation of the research on the subject, the concept of identity, specific features of teacher’s identity, controversies of music teacher’s identity are discussed as well. The strategy of narrative analysis has been chosen for the empirical research, the narratives provided by four music teachers are examined, after having answered the question: when did you feel yourself to be a musician in the context of a pedagogical activity?
