Calvinist church in Orla in the 17th century

The article discusses the question of Calvinist church in Orla in the 17th century. The chapel was founded in 1615 while the plans for its construction emerge as early as in 1611. The structure disappears completely in the mid 18th century. Numerous preachers performed their ministry in Orla. Most often it was their second parish as they also gave sermons in Zabłudów – the regional center of Podlachia. They were paid annually 150 złoty by the Radziwiłł family. Several times Orla hosted general Calvinist convocations from the entire Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, including the 1644 meeting with other protestant assemblies. Using numerous surviving inventories and court bills, the article describes the temple together with its surrounding buildings
