In science education is important to discuss the relationship between culture and science, allowing the confrontation between common sense and scientific knowledge. One perspective to promote this discussion is based on the construction of new meanings on the natural environment, which collaborates with a better relationship between society and nature and also enables more integrated pedagogical practices to the local context.
