The surfactants, which are compounds with a great number of properties and functions, are used in both industrial and household applications. However, synthetic surfactants used nowadays are toxic to the environment and not biodegradable. Many cases of environmental contamination have been reported. Studies have been conducted to find solutions to minimize these damages. Biosurfactants present as solution, since they are biodegradable compounds produced by microorganisms with properties similar to the surfactant. This study describes the types of surfactants, as well as their application and the importance of substituting them for biosurfactants.Atualmente faz-se necessário discutir sobre a degradação ambiental bem como os seus moti...
