Representações de gênero na Aracaju ficcional de Amando Fontes : uma análise da obra Os Corumbas

This work aimed to reflect about the interactions between History and Literature, discussing issues such as the truth in History and Literature, and the uses of literary work by historian. This research has chosen as the work corpus Corumbas (1933), the writer Amando Fontes, one of the main representatives of the literary movement known as Romance of 30, which brought brazilian literature a concern sharper in ally the art with social denunciation. Currently, in its 25th edition, this work constitutes an interesting source of research for analysis of various aspects of the history of Sergipe and, in particular, of Aracaju, raising debates still present. The daily work in the factories and the forms of leisure in the city of Aracaju in the early 20th century are some of the topics discussed by Amando Fontes, which were also the target of interest of researchers and critics. Our analysis started from a targeted perspective to a field still unexplored in the work, seeking to understand the aspects of gender relations. Initially, we conducted a bibliographic and documentary research work, observing the criticisms produced at the time of the publication of the novel, as well as the studies carried in the graduate, the example of dissertations that focused on the writer and his novels, realizing its insertion in the literary scene of the 30 and its contribution to the History of Brazilian Literature. Then we discussed issues concerning possible relationships between History and Literature, seeking to understand the fictional Aracaju portrayed by the author. At the end of our work, we investigated the construction of sexual roles established for men and women. Through the analysis of the main characters and their representations, we observe the values, worldviews, moral conceptions and taboos that permeated society from Aracaju and how these elements are included in the writing of novelist. We believe that this study reveals important issues about gender relations in the early 20th century, opening up new research possibilities for historians and literati.Este trabalho teve como objetivo refletir sobre as interações entre História e Literatura, discutindo questões como a verdade na História e na Literatura, e os usos da obra literária pelo historiador. Esta pesquisa escolheu como corpus a obra Os Corumbas (1933), do escritor Amando Fontes, um dos principais representantes do movimento literário conhecido como Romance de 30, que trouxe à literatura brasileira uma preocupação mais acentuada em aliar a arte à denúncia social. Atualmente, em sua 25ª edição, a referida obra constitui-se em uma interessante fonte de pesquisa para análise de diversos aspectos da história de Sergipe e, de modo particular, de Aracaju, suscitando debates ainda atuais. O cotidiano, o trabalho nas fábricas e as formas de lazer na cidade de Aracaju no início do século XX são alguns dos temas abordados por Amando Fontes, que foram também alvo de interesse de pesquisadores e críticos. Nossa análise partiu de uma perspectiva direcionada a um campo ainda inexplorado na obra, buscando compreender os aspectos relativos às relações de gênero. Inicialmente realizamos um trabalho de pesquisa bibliográfica e documental, observando as críticas produzidas à época da publicação do romance, bem como os estudos realizados na pós-graduação, a exemplo das dissertações de mestrado que versaram sobre o escritor e seus romances, percebendo sua inserção no cenário literário da década de 30 e sua contribuição para a História da Literatura Brasileira. Em seguida, discutimos questões relativas às possíveis relações entre a História e a Literatura, buscando compreender a Aracaju ficcional retratada pelo autor. Na parte final de nosso trabalho, investigamos a construção dos papéis sexuais estabelecidos para homens e mulheres. Através da análise das principais personagens e das suas representações, observamos os valores, visões de mundo, concepções morais e tabus que permeavam a sociedade aracajuana do período e como esses elementos figuram na escrita do romancista. Consideramos que o referido estudo revela importantes questões acerca das relações de gênero no início do século XX, abrindo novas possibilidades de pesquisa para historiadores e literatos
