O presente trabalho apresenta uma revisão sistemática de Pygidiolampas araripensis (Beurlen, 1966), um equinóide da bacia do Araripe, e a proposta de transferência desta espécie da família Faujasidae Lambert, 1905 para a família Clypeidae Lambert,1898, gênero Bothryopneustes Fourtau, 1924. Esta proposição é baseada no número de poros nas placas ambulacrais além das pétalas, na disposição dos poros nos filódios, no comprimento e abertura das pétalas e na posição do periprocto, características que esta espécie possui em comum com os demais Bothryopneustes. As feições morfológicas da carapaça de P. (M.) araripensis sugerem que esta espécie teria sido epifaunal em ambiente marinho de baixa energia._______________________________________________...
