This research aims to analyze the novels Little Women (1868; 2005), by Louisa May Alcott and The Shadow of the Patriarch (1950), by Alina Paim, based on studies of comparative literature and the novel of formation. We seek to establish a dialogue about how the insertion of women in literary production influenced the construction of the figure of women in society and their representations. This analysis begins with the social and cultural traits that have repercussions in the writing and reading of the works. In this process of construction of women's writing, women show their conflicts and desires, fruits of their experiences, providing an opportunity to represent themselves and to become aware of their voices.
