Empreendedorismo feminino : um estudo de caso no setor de beleza e estética em Barra dos Coqueiros / SE

Female entrepreneurship is a growing phenomenon in Brazil and there are several challenges for those who decide to start their own business, especially when women assume this commitment. This research aimed to analyze characteristics, motivations and challenges faced by entrepreneurs in the beauty and aesthetics sector working in the city of Barra dos Coqueiros/SE. Regarding to the methodology adopted, the research is based on a study with a qualitative approach and classified as exploratory. The data collection instrument used was the interview with four entrepreneurs through a semi-structured script. In order to achieve the proposed objectives, after delintling the categories of analysis, which served as a guideline in the analysis of the results, it is possible to verify the peculiar characteristics of the profile of the participating entrepreneurs, such as the average age of 29 years, mostly married civil status, the presence of children and technical or higher education. In addition, the research found the main characteristics of the businesses managed by the entrepreneurs, such as the time of operation in the market, the services offered, the number of employees, the type of audience assisted. This study also identified several motivations that influenced entrepreneurs to choose the aesthetics and beauty sector as a business option. Thus, it was highlighted the fact that they already have some kind of knowledge prior to training in the area, the encouragement of family members and the vision of business growth. Moreover, one can point out the main challenges and difficulties faced in some areas, such as personal and people management, marketing and finance. Finally, the results analyzed were not differentiated from other researches of the same line, such as the lack of planning, mainly financial, and the reconciliation of the female role in business and in the obligations of the home and family.O empreendedorismo feminino é um fenômeno crescente no Brasil e diversos são os desafios para quem decide abrir o seu próprio negócio, principalmente quando as mulheres assumem este compromisso. Esta pesquisa teve como objetivo analisar características, motivações e desafios enfrentados por empreendedoras no setor de beleza e estética que atuam na cidade de Barra dos Coqueiros/SE. No tocante à metodologia adotada, a pesquisa é baseada em um estudo com abordagem qualitativa e classificada como exploratória. Como instrumento de coleta de dados foi utilizado o recurso da entrevista com quatro empreendedoras por meio de um roteiro semiestruturado. Para o alcance dos objetivos propostos, após delineadas as categorias de análise, as quais serviram de direcionamento nas análises dos resultados, pode-se verificar as características peculiares do perfil das empresárias participantes, como exemplo, a idade média de 29 anos, estado civil em sua maioria casada, a presença de filhos e formação técnica ou superior. Além disso, a pesquisa constatou as principais características dos negócios geridos por empreendedoras, como o tempo de atuação no mercado, os serviços ofertados, o número de funcionários, o tipo de público assistido. Este estudo também identificou diversas motivações que influenciaram as empreendedoras escolherem o setor de estética e beleza como opção de negócio. Dessa forma, destacou-se o fato de já possuírem algum tipo de conhecimento anterior à formação na área, o incentivo dos familiares e a visão de crescimento do negócio. Além do mais, pode-se apontar os principais desafios e dificuldades enfrentadas em algumas áreas, como a de gestão pessoal e de pessoas, marketing e finanças. Por fim, os resultados analisados não foram diferenciados de outras pesquisas da mesma linha, como por exemplo, a falta de planejamento, principalmente financeiro, e a conciliação do papel feminino nos negócios e nas obrigações do lar e familiar.São Cristóvão, S
