The assessment of the geographic distribution of organisms in fragmented landscapes is one of the principal approaches of Conservation Biology, due to the extensive loss of natural habitats, both in overall quantity and quality (habitat fragmentation). In the Brazilian state of Sergipe, the surviving remnants of the forested habitats of the Atlantic Forest and Caatinga biomes support an important diversity of organisms.
