Endoparasites infecting two species of whiptail lizard (Cnemidophorus Abaetensis and C. Ocellifer; Teiidae) in a ‘restinga’ habitat of north- eastern Brazil

We analysed the endoparasite fauna associated with two species of whiptail lizard (Cnemidophorus abaetensis and C. ocellifer) from north-eastern Brazil. Overall parasite prevalence was relatively low for both species (18.2% in C. abaetensis and 12.5% in C.ocellifer). Four parasite species were recorded: the pentastomid Raillietiella aff. furcocerca and the nematodes Physaloptera lutzi, P. retusa and Hexametra boddaertii.
