These activities were designed to enhance the fourth chapter of a module about wetlands which includes a history of wetland loss, how wetlands are lost, and the consequences of wetland loss. The activities can be used as part of the module or can stand alone as lab activities. In the first activity students construct and investigate a model watershed and perform various experiments with the watershed model to illustrate how human activities can impact wetlands. In the other activity students role play migrating water birds traveling between nesting habitats and wintering grounds.
