Teaching Tip on 'Enviropedia: Introduction to Global Warming'

I was looking through DLESE for a website devoted to Global Warming. I did find a great site, http://www.ace.mmu.ac.uk/eae/Global_Warming/global_warming.html, which is really just a huge chunk of information regarding anything and everything related to global warming. There isnt an already prepared lesson plan to utilize, but enough stuff to do a research project or just learn what you would like to learn about the subject. The creator of this website must have decided that the topic Global Warming is not exciting or interesting enough for the average student, so the webpage has Bart Simpson and Monty Burns, two characters from the show The Simpsons as icons next to the related issues for global warming. If the student clicks on Bart, there is an easy to read description of the topic selected. If you choose Monty Burns, you get a technical page full of statistics and advanced information about the subject. The page is easy to navigate and has links to subjects like the history of global warming, impacts of global warming, Kyoto protocol, greenhouse gasses, etc. I went into quite a few of the links from the Bart Simpson link and found that it is not that easy to read and understand. True, it is easier than the Monty Burns link, but still might be hard for the average 4th grader to just read and grasp. I actually found the Burns links to be really interesting. I like the stats and data better than just a paragraph explaining. I want the paragraph and the stats to help me to understand.
