‘I care by …’ draws together drawings, texts and a collaborative declaration that have arisen from the Care research and the group’s research event with Jade Montserrat on March 10 2021. Included in the publication is the Care group’s text The Declaration, being a declaration of care which was performed alongside invited artist Jade Montserrat’s readings and live drawing. In the event participants including members of the public were invited to draw alongside Montserrat with whatever materials they had to hand as they listened to texts on the vulnerabilities of bodies, the structuring of care within institutions, and the tactile, sensory, healing qualities of creative practice.
