The cosmic microwave background (CMB) permits the accurate determination of most of the cosmological parameters and sheds light on the primordial Universe and on high energy physics. ARCHEOPS is a balloon borne experiment designed to measure the CMB temperature anisotropies over a large fraction of the sky. It also prepares the satellite mission PLANCK and has bolometers sensitive to polarization dedicated to the study of Galactic dust radiation. After a description of the other current methods that estimate the cosmological parameters, the first part of this thesis describes the physics of the CMB and its polarization.
