PARALLEL applications are getting increasingly complex every day. Even with modem programming environments, they are extremely difficult to tune, whether it is for correcmess or for performance. For this last point, an interesting tool is the visualization of the application execution. We present here oui work conceming the study, the design and the implementation of an extensible interactive visualization environnent for the performance evaluation of parallel systens. Such an environnent lets one reconstmct the behaviour of an application based on execution traces. It also computes and displays variousperformance indices representative of an application execution.
