Predmet proučavanja ove doktorske disertacije je medicinska gljiva Fomitopsis betulina poznata kao brezova guba ili brezov trud. Osnovni cilj ove disertacije je bio izolovanje bioaktivnih jedinjenja triterpenskog tipa i ispitivanje citotoksičnosti na ćelijskim linijama akutne promijelocitne leukemije (HL-60) i adenokarcinoma pluća (A549), kao i DNK protektivne aktivnosti na humanim limfocitima periferne krvi. Drugi deo disertacije odnosio se na kultivaciju plodonosnih tela u laboratorijskim uslovima i dobijanje metabolomičkih modela primenom rezultata FTIR i HR MAS NMR spektroskopskih tehnika za praćenje promena u hemijskom sastavu.
