Single crystals of LnAgyX4-y (Ln=La, Ce; X=Al, Ga; y≈0.72) were synthesized by aluminum or gallium flux and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. LnAgyX4-y (Ln=La, Ce; X=Al, Ga; y≈0.72) crystallize in the tetragonal space group I4/mmm (No. 139) with lattice parameter a=≈4.3 Å and c=≈10. 7 Å, Z=2. CeAg0.72Al3.28 and CeAg0.67Ga3.33 are metallic, and magnetic measurements indicate that they both order ferromagnetically near 3 K. © 2007 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved
