This paper will take the reader through a tour of women\u27s history from early post-secondary school through their earlier work in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math. We will then explore the boom in progress driven by the need for workers of any kind during World War II. We will examine extraordinary women who changed the course of history during that time and what it was like for an average woman with a college degree. We will then look at the space race and show that the progress made during World War II was pushed back against by men and women who were not ready for women to be treated quite as equally as men.
