International audienceIn the French Southern Alps, at an elevation of 800 m, winter climate conditions give rise to periglacial erosional processes in the badland topography of the marly catchment basins. At the Draix site (Cemagref-RTM experimental catchment basins in the Pre-Alps near Digne), temperature records and erosion measurements obtained during the winter of 2000-2001 were used to identify the following periglacial morphogenetic characteristics: 114 freeze-thaw cycles in the air, morphoclimatic contrasts between the south (adret) and north (ubac) slopes at the gully scale, frost creep and gelifluction on the surface of the marly regolite, and presence of seasonally frozen ground down to a depth of 30 cm on the north slopes. Frost ...
