Starting graduate school can be overwhelming, especially considering that as graduate students you are expected to read more and take in information at a faster pace than as an undergrad. In this session, Jordan Martell, an instructor with UNIV 101 and a doctoral student, will discuss on how to read more effectively. Reading effectively includes knowing about different parts of a book, deciphering key information in the introduction and conclusion, and knowing how to summarize what you’ve read at the end of each chapter. We will also be discussing tips on how to write notes to maximize learning by learning about what tools to use and how to organize and label your notes
