This paper presents a method for the route planning of an autonomous; underwater vehicle (AUV) navigating in an unknown obstacle field. The method mainly focuses on the case of abrupt obstacles. Simulation results show, that this method is efficient and stable. It also considers! dynamical compensation for AUV to overcome the influences of the changing ocean environment
