Pengaruh Edukasi Terhadap Kepatuhan Minum Obat Pasien Gagal Jantung

Heart failure is a chronic disease with the number of deaths increasing every year. Self care management is the patient's actions to maintain physical stability, avoiding behavior that worsens the disease condition. Adherence to taking medication is one of the important components of self care management of heart failure. Patients with heart failure often do not comply with medical therapy. For this reason, knowledge about the benefits of drugs, side effects, and dangers is needed if the drugs are not taken properly. Knowledge about treatment therapy can be obtained from nurse education. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of education on medication adherence in heart failure patients. This study uses a pre-experimental type of research that examines the effect of education on medication adherence in heart failure patients. The population in this study were 211 people and the sample of this study was 75 people. This research was conducted at UNS Hospital. Sampling using the Non Probability Sampling method with purposive sampling technique. The research instrument used the MMAS 8 questionnaire which contained medication adherence questions. The results of the analysis of the difference in average medication adherence using the Wilcoxon sign rank test obtained a value of Z = -6.529 with p = 0.001. The conclusion of this study is that there is an effect of education on the adherence score of taking medication in heart failure patients. Suggestions for further research is to make more detailed observations of respondents
