Hubungan Pola Asuh Dengan Kejadian Stunting Pada Balita Di Desa Payung Kecamatan Bodeh Kabupaten Pemalang

Introduction: Toddlers who are stunted will have difficulty in achieving optimal physical and cognitive development, and have a low IQ compared to the average IQ of children in general. Mother's parenting pattern is very influential on the incidence of stunting in toddlers, especially in feeding, hygiene and sanitation, and health can increase the risk of children getting stunted. The prevalence of stunting in children under five in Payung Village in 2020 was 22.22%.The purpose of this study: This study aimed to determine the correlation between parenting and stunting moment in toddlers in Payung Village, Bodeh District of Pemalang Regency. Research Methodology: The research was observational with a cross-sectional approach. This study had a total of 48 respondents with the subject of toddlers aged 12-59 months obtained from a simple random sampling technique. Data on parenting patterns were obtained through interviews related to questionnaires about parenting, while data on stunting were obtained from weighing at the posyandu which was held in August. The data analysis technique used the Chi-Square method.. Results: The prevalence of stunting in this study was 47.9%, mothers who had good parenting were 41.7% with an average value of the respondent's parenting pattern of 61.53 with an RR of 2.57 (95% CI 1.147-5.767; P 0.007). Conclusion: There was a significant correlation between parenting and the incidence of stunting in children under five in Payung Village. It is hoped that the Health Service and related health centers will pay more attention to counseling regarding parenting patterns, especially parenting patterns of feeding, health and hygiene and environmental sanitation so that it is hoped that low maternal parenting patterns can be reduced
