Academic research in education and the participation of the person with disability

A presente pesquisa inseriu-se no campo de estudos da Educação e da área de conhecimento da Educação Especial, com o intuito de lançar um olhar acerca das formas de participação de pessoas com deficiência em pesquisas acadêmicocientíficas com temática sobre o direito à educação. Essa escolha deve-se à ampla divulgação de estudos e de balanços de produção acadêmica realizada no campo e na área destacados, suscitando investigações múltiplas acerca dos processos de desenvolvimento, de experiências e de vivências das pessoas com deficiência em todas as instâncias da vida em sociedade. Assim, o objetivo geral de pesquisa debruçou-se sobre o seguinte questionamento: De que forma a pesquisa científica educacional brasileira ratifica o princípio da participação social e se compromete com o favorecimento da plena e direta participação desses sujeitos em sua produção, aspectos fortemente expressos tanto pelo movimento social de pessoas com deficiência, intitulado Nada sobre nós sem nós, quanto pela Convenção Internacional sobre os Direitos das Pessoas com Deficiência? Utilizando a vertente teórica e conceitual dos Disability Studies (Estudos da Deficiência), buscou-se conceituar o termo participação à luz do modelo social da deficiência. Os objetivos específicos foram: a) mapear as produções acadêmico-científicas no campo da Educação que contam com a participação de pessoas com deficiência; b) investigar quais as formas de participação e em que contextos ocorrem; e c) estabelecer possíveis conexões entre a adoção do modelo social de deficiência e a participação de pessoas com deficiência em estudos científicos. Partindo-se de uma perspectiva histórica acerca do movimento social das pessoas com deficiência visando o direito à educação, tomouse como fontes documentais subsidiárias as diretrizes da Convenção Internacional sobre os Direitos das Pessoas com Deficiência (BRASIL, 2009), a Política Nacional de Educação Especial na Perspectiva da Educação Inclusiva (BRASIL, 2008) e a Lei Brasileira de Inclusão da Pessoa com Deficiência (BRASIL, 2015), documentos organizados sob a perspectiva dos direitos humanos e que colocam a pessoa com deficiência como protagonista e porta-voz de suas reais necessidades. A análise foi feita com base no referencial teórico-metodológico do Paradigma Indiciário de Ginzburg (1989, 2006) e outros escritos correlatos do autor, que orientaram a interpretação do corpus da pesquisa, tornando possível a compreensão de como está estabelecida a participação de pessoas com deficiência nos estudos acadêmicocientíficos no campo da Educação. Os resultados evidenciaram que a participação das pessoas com deficiência nos estudos analisados ocorre por meio de modalidades hegemônicas de comunicação (sobretudo a oralidade). Além disso, os processos de pesquisa não são inclusivos, pois não adequaram as técnicas e os instrumentos de pesquisa às especificidades e às singularidades dos sujeitos com deficiência, o que se configura como barreira à participação.The present research is part of the field of studies of Education and the area of knowledge of Special Education, with the objective of looking at the forms of participation of people with disabilities in academic and scientific research on the subject of the right to education. This choice is due to the wide dissemination of studies and balances of academic production carried out in the field and area highlighted, giving rise to multiple investigations about the development processes and experiences of people with disabilities in all instances of life in society. Thus, the general research objective focused on the following question: How does Brazilian educational scientific research ratify the principle of social participation of people with disabilities and commit to favoring the full and direct participation of these subjects in its production, aspects strongly expressed both by the social movement of people with disabilities, entitled Nothing on us without us, and by the International Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities? Using the theoretical and conceptual strand of Disability Studies, it was sought to conceptualize the term participation in the light of the social model of disability. The specific objectives were: a) to map scientific academic productions in the field of Education that count on the participation of people with disabilities; b) to investigate the forms of participation and in which contexts they occur; and c) to establish possible connections between the adoption of the social model of disability and the participation of people with disabilities in scientific studies. Starting from a historical perspective about the social movement of people with disabilities aiming at the right to education, it was taken as subsidiary documentary sources the guidelines of the International Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (BRASIL, 2009), the National Policy on Special Education in the Perspective of Inclusive Education (BRASIL, 2008), and the Brazilian Law for the Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities (BRASIL, 2015), documents organized from the perspective of human rights and that place the person with disability as a protagonist and spokesperson for their real needs. The analysis was based on the theoreticalmethodological framework of Ginzburgs (1989, 2006) Evidence Paradigm and other related writings by the author, which guided the interpretation of the research corpus, making it possible to understand how the participation of people with disabilities is established in scientific academic studies in the field of Education. The results show that the participation of people with disabilities in the analyzed studies occurs through hegemonic modalities of communication (orality, above all). In addition, the research processes are not inclusive, since they did not adapt the techniques and research instruments to the specificities and singularities of the disabled subjects, which is configured as a barrier to participation
