Introdução: A fotocoagulação direcionada a áreas de isquemia (ISQ-RP) é uma opção promissora para reduzir os efeitos colaterais da fotocoagulação panretiniana (PRP). Objetivos: Comparar os efeitos da PRP, como proposta pelo ETDRS (Early Treatment Diabetic Retinopathy Study Research), versus a ISQ-RP no tratamento da retinopatia diabética proliferativa (RDP).
