International audienceThe present article examines the acquisition of a complex phenomenon from a cross-linguistic perspective implying two languages: Bulgarian and French. In the first part, we present the mechanisms for expressing causativity in Bulgarian and French. In the second part, we present the results of three exprimental tasks (production, comprehension, imitation) exploring the acquisition of causatives by 3 to 6 year-old Bulgarian and French monolingual children
