Through a review of the literature, the developmental phases of infancy and childhood, and the descriptive research, the author defines the etiological and behavioral aspects of borderline disorders in children. Based on a case study as seen in art therapy, the author describes the level of functioning of a latency age child and the relation of the artwork to the child’s self-identity
