Introduction: Nurse discomfort providing palliative and end of life (PEOL) care may negatively affect patients with PEOL needs. Deficient PEOL communication skills and limited understanding of symptom management are a distress among nurses. The End-of- Life Nursing Education Consortium Core (ELNEC) curriculum may help ease nurses’ challenges providing effective PEOL communication and symptom management. Evidence Summary: A literature review was completed with the following databases searched: CINAHL, CINAHL with Ebscohost, PubMed, Wiley, and Journals@Ovid.
