Introduction: Head and neck cancer (HNC) has a high prevalence and, due to its location, makes it difficult to eat and has a strong impact on the nutritional status of the patient. Patients with HNC are more predisposed to malnutrition, whether caused by the advancement of the disease or by antineoplastic treatment and its side effects, such as loss of appetite, dysphagia, dysgeusia, xerostomia, among others. Although many studies describe the symptoms, few aim to develop educational material for the patient.
