This study comes from a basic interrogation: "What is the music?" Most of the musicians or audience have already wondered about this question. Considering such a large question, we will need help of musical theory. Which one? We have decided to select Nietzsche's work because of its central place in ideas history and of the special relationship that Nietzsche has with music; yes, Nietzsche was not only a philosopher, he was also a musician. From then on, we need a method to understand Nietzsche's thought: we have to show where these theses are coming from.
