In this paper we study how multinational corporations, while internationalizing R&D, succeed in articulating their knowledge networks, in order to share knowledge and avoid dispersion. Using the situated cognition approach, we assume that for coproducing knowledge in these networks, they need to build knowledge sharing devices. We show, from exclusive data about research fellows in firms, that the mobility of research fellows in their networks is a HR knowledge sharing device, and that they use it particularly when localizing in areas with high research level.
