International audienceOptimized balancing strategies arerequired to manage in the long-term the imbalances inbatteries with cells strings. They are usually based onvoltage monitoring and/or instantaneous estimates ofthe cells states of charge and aim to equalize the statesof the cells at the end of a charge. The present paperproposes to take benefit from estimates of the cellscapacity disparities to optimize these strategies. Itallows the battery management system to predict thebalancing needs in order that each of the cells reachesits individualized objective. After the presentation ofthe algorithm principle, a focus is done on passivebalancing systems. They are implemented for numericsimulations with a Li-ion battery
