International audienceThis paper examines the relationships between the various branches of a kin group in the Valdostano community of Saint-Vincent in the late sixteenth century. The most prominent member of the Regis clan was Vincent Regis, who served as secretary and then treasurer of the valley estates from the 1550s until his death in the early 1580s. Historiographic models concerning patron-client ties between regional elites and local supporters would lead one to suspect that Vincent had constructed a dense network of reciprocal relationships in Saint-Vincent, especially among the numerous other Regis families who resided there.
