In this thesis, our efforts to show the effect of surface composition, roughness, and electrostatic contribution on the measured Casimir force are reported together with analyzing the influence of the optical properties and different ways of data extrapolation on the theoretical calculations. The research presented in this thesis highlights the importance of the characteristics of the surfaces involved in a micro-nano system where Casimir force manifests itself. The combined experimental and theoretical studies in this work can pave the path for the future scientist to design and engineer small-size technologies, as it may bring new perspective for the researchers pursuing fundamental studies for forces between complex materials
