Deprivation of tumor vascularization is a promising way to prevent tumor outgrowth. Various approaches are under investigation to achieve this, ranging from inhibition of endothelial cell growth or migration to selective tumor vascular targeting of chemotherapeutics. The rapid progress in the field of angiogenesis research, including results presented at a recent meeting*, is discussed here.</p
