This thesis described the synthesis, carachterization, and application of bioconjugated metal-based compounds. The bioconjugated Pd-based metallocages are non-toxic to healthy tissue cells. Their well defined structure make them ideal tools for targeted delivery of anticancer drug cisplatin. The bioconjugated Ru-based compounds exhibit high photocleavable property which can be used as mass-tag for the targted mass spectrometry imaging of tumor tissue
