We review the electronic structure and related properties of fullerene solids, including pristine bulk samples and thin films, intercalation compounds, heterofullerenes, and endohedral fullerenes. We pay special attention to fundamental properties such as intermolecular interactions and phase transitions, orientational ordering, electron correlation and charge transport, electron–phonon coupling, superconductivity, p-orbital magnetism, as well as optoelectronic properties (photopolymerization, photoinduced charge transfer, photoconductivity). We also discuss the implementation of fullerenes in electronic and optoelectronic devices such as thin-film transistors, organic solar cells, and photodetectors
