OBJECTIVES: In patients with severe pulmonary valve regurgitation or stenosis, pulmonary valve replacement (PVR) has a favourable effect on right ventricular (RV) volume and pressure unloading. PVR thereby decreases the progression of RV dilatation and/or hypertrophy.
