Specific conformations of molecules may be induced by the solvent when a large free volume is associated with the oonformational change. The conformational energy barrier is then a property of the solvent, rather than of the molecule. Such effects are reported for several substituted phenyl-benzyl-nitroxides, where Solvent Induced Conformational Kinetics ( SICK) can be studied by ESR.</p
