Durasi Pemberian Air Susu Ibu (ASI) terhadap Perkembangan Anak Usia 24-35 Bulan

Purpose: This study aimed to study the relationship between duration of breastfeeding by the mother of the child development at the age of 24-35 months.Method: The study was conducted in April and September 2014. The study sample as many as 120 children was obtained from 11 early childhood in Bojong Rawalumbu and Pengasinan village, District Rawalumbu, Bekasi Town. The study design is cross-sectional. Instrument used is a structured questionnaire. Primary data was collected by interview with parents of respondents. Analysis of the data using the chi squared test or the alternative of chi square test.Results: The data obtained by 99 children from 120 data collection. As many as 21 was excluded because of incomplete data. Children who got a good breastfeeding duration, 63.6% and 36.4% duration is not good. Normal development of children 94.9% and 5.1% suspect. Data analysis using fisher test because it does not qualify for the chi square test. Fisher test results between duration of breastfeeding with development category produces a p-value = 0.65. Although not statistically significant, but there is a tendency that children get a good breastfeeding duration has a good development. More developmental delays experienced by children with duration of breastfeeding is not good.Conclusions: Children with good breastfeeding duration (6-23 months) has a better development than children with no good breastfeeding duration (
