Perbedaan Kadar Asam Urat Dengan Sampel Serum Dan Plasma Edta Pada Mahasiswa/I Program Studi Div Teknologi Laboratorium Medis Fakultas Ilmu Kesehatan

In some laboratories in the examination of blood uric acid levels only use serum samples as a uric acid test material. Examination of uric acid levels can use serum or plasma samples (Heparin or EDTA). This study aims to determine the difference in blood uric acid levels with serum and plasma samples of EDTA. Research Method : This research was conducted on 30 DIV students. Medical Laboratory Technology Faculty of Health Sciences Musi Charitas Catholic University, which meets the criteria of inclusion and exclusion with the type of research "One Static Group Comparison". The study subjects were taken by one puncture and directly accommodated using 2 tubes, namely serum samples (without anticoagulants), red tubes and unhomogenized tubes while in plasma samples EDTA (no anticoagulants), purple tubes and homogenized samples, after venous blood samples were taken, then serum and plasma samples of EDTA were obtained using Biosystem A15 by uricase/peroxidase method. Research Results : From 30 research subjects examining uric acid levels with serum and plasma samples EDTA obtained an average serum sample uric acid level of 4.8190 mg/dL. Uric acid levels of EDTA plasma samples were obtained an average value of 5.0553 mg/dL, where in uric acid levels with plasma samples EDTA was higher. Hypothetical test results with paired T-Test test confidence level 95 % obtained sig probability value (2- tailed) 0.009 < 0.05, then the results of the study stated that there was a significant difference in uric acid levels with serum and plasma samples of EDTA. Conclusion : Based on the results of the study obtained concluded that there is a difference in uric acid levels with serum and plasma samples of EDTA
