National audiencePower electronic converters are widely used in different applications requiring high reliability and availability. In order to address these requirements, the power modules have been enhanced to include features like redundancy, through fault tolerant switching cells, which allows to guarantee continuity of service. These evolved features are performed by adding electronics protections, using components like diodes, fuses, thyristors, to allow the connection of a back-up leg.
